Flagstaff

The Flagstaff sky shines real bright, just like California burning all over. The Western New York winds swirling all around me. Until the wind picks up and it's 12:30 and you're miles and miles from the city. And you're miles and you're miles and you're miles from me.
I know when you go you'll be real happy and I hope when you go you'll still think of me.
Just like a day trip to Sedona, I'll drive from Houston to Navasota just to get out of the city and see what Texas has for me. A wooded path is enough for me as I get lost in stray thoughts hidden in the leaves. I will not let go of this feeling of love again.
I know when you go you'll be real happy and I hope when you go you'll still think of me.

Lights
02:49
|
|||
Lights dancing around me
Lights dancing around you
Funny how lights can penetrate into whatever it needs to
Effortlessly casting things into shadows
Darkening them whole
The silhouette of a woman turned from gold
The moon will do as it will
Shining brighter on a landscape without hills
All the swaying grass choking on shadows
Dreaming of the moon and life it gives you
The tide rolls in and it's a full moon
It's all for you

I'm waiting for my calling
keeping my ears open and searching for clues
I want to be an idol
for someone else in my shoes
Let me break from this however I can
You might as well be drowning
Your clothes are soaked and withering through
You're pushing me away from helping you babe
So i"m far away from you
I hope you grow
I want to grow

I love you when you call
The distance hurts and your wife is a slob
Don't listen to her, her teeth are sharp
And your mistakes are what make you beautiful
I remember when you were scared to hike down buttermilk falls
The trail was icy and you didn't trust the rocks
So I went first and I ate it
I slipped and broke my wrist
You flew down and helped me up
You crossed the ice for me and I wish you would call
We're so far and it breaks my heart
This apartment is cold as a stone left heartbroken and alone
I'm so cold while you're stoned
The sun will break through the clouds and shine down
But wait before you come down
Cuz I'm not ready yet so
Slow down and sure you have everything you need so when we
Lie down we wont owe anybody a thing

Silently frustrated with my life where did the progress go
I thought I'd done this before

Plants

When I'm home and feel alone
I have so many plants close to my bones
I can reach out and touch their petals with my heart
I go out to my favorite store and I buy that candy that I love so much
Oh candy how you calm me down
My life isn't going just how I thought it would in this part of my life
god it just stresses me out
and i'm a loner who's getting older
you'll never know what's going on in my mind

Every Day
01:40
|

Every day is another day that leaves you thinking what should I say
Until that day when the thought comes up that leaves you asking what did he say on that day
When the man and you were in the room
I swear to god I'll make him pay

Sonnet (wake up)
01:17
|
|||
Wake up alone
Clothes on the floor
Words ringing loud
Am I better off
Am I burning time
That I have to give
To someone else
What's the point of wondering
I'm sick of this time
Spent upset alone
Wishing of you to return
To return
Weakened by nothing
I'm not the same

I went searching by the rocks
and you were floating in the air
and there was a big cloud about to dump water on us
and there was silence and you were everywhere
I thought that you would be as I gazed out to the sea
and for one moment I saw everything
in the world
me and you in the warm in the rain
me and you in the grassy plain
anywhere that you are
we can be there

California
02:12
|

You looked at me that night I spent in California
the first thing you said to me was I'm not cut out for this life
will you try to comfort me and love me cuz my mind is stuck
so we went out to the sea in a car that makes a van look like a truck
the waves crashed merrily on rocks at the base of the bluff
we stood on top quietly as the sun began to drop
some bird squawked at me and my heart began to stop
first my would would freeze and my sadness having no counterpart
and my heart would lay heavy thinking about everything i have done
at least my lungs aren't burning like the city
at least my lungs aren't burning inside of me

so why don't you just break me down tonight
thinking for a while what this would be
if you were you and i was me
this wouldn't be so hard if you could just see what you have done to me
just look back what have you done
just look at and talk to anyone
and you'll see what you've done to me
so why don't you just break me down tonight

I carry you back home tonight
The moon is high and bright in the sky tonight
The air is cool and knows of our love
Your skin is smooth and gold and glows in the pale moonlight
I tuck you in our bed at night
You protest no, don't let me go
No, no, no
I would never let you go
No, no, no
